Logmein hamachi release notes
- We’re thrilled to announce that Rescue now supports Intel vPro enabled devices, offering out-of-band (OOB) remote management features even when the operating system isn’t running. This integration, highly requested by our GSI customers, allows support agents to resolve issues for devices that would otherwise be unreachable, such as those not powered on or without a functioning operating system. Agents can now perform actions like waking the device up, connecting directly to the BIOS for updates, resolving “blue screen of death” errors, and more. Learn more About vPro on our support site.
- We’re delighted to announce the release of self-service Single Sign-On (SSO) in Rescue. This new feature allows all Rescue customers to configure and test their SSO configurations directly in the Rescue Admin Center, eliminating the need to schedule time with a support representative. This significant update removes a major bottleneck, streamlining the SSO configuration process. Learn more about the feature from the brand new SAML SSO guide.
- We’re thrilled to announce that Rescue now supports the ChromeOS operating system. This new addition allows for remote viewing of the desktop and remote control of Android applications on ChromeOS devices, including recent versions of Chromebooks with both Intel and ARM support. To use this feature, users need to navigate to Google Playstore on their Chromebooks, download or update to the latest version of the “Rescue + Mobile for Android” application, install it, and run it. They can then request help from a Technician in the usual way by entering a PIN. This release marks another step in our commitment to broadening platform support in 2023.
- We’re excited to announce an extension to our Linux support for Rescue. This includes the addition of Calling Card for custom channels and verified support for Debian 11, Debian 12, IGEL Linux 11, Arch Linux (GNOME 3 + KDE), Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS, and Linux Mint 21.2. Furthermore, we’ve extended support for older hardware, eliminating the requirement for FMA and AVX2 CPU instruction sets. This update enhances our commitment to providing comprehensive support across various Linux distributions and hardware configurations.

New
Today the Rescue team is excited to announce that Linux is now available for customers. The release marks a huge milestone for Rescue, as Ubuntu is the first new platform supported by Rescue in over a decade!
This year one of the core tenants of the Rescue roadmap is to expand Rescue’s reach to more device types and support scenarios, and Linux represents the first of these new offerings. In a post Covid world, Rescue customers demanded support for additional operating systems and platforms – Linux being chief among them. There are multiple reasons for this surge in Linux adoption. Modern versions of Linux like Ubuntu offer a graphical user interface that is extremely similar to macOS and Windows, it requires very little hardware resources to run, is easy to lock down and control, and provides a simple platform for users who only need to access lightweight web applications. As a result, we are seeing many more companies offering Linux devices to their employees. Ubuntu is not the only Linux version that Rescue will ultimately support, as versions like Redhat and Debian are still prevalent on servers and other devices around the world.
